Microsoft has just put out its version of a tablet, called the Surface, and I have to say, I really like it. Finally a product from Microsoft that looks exciting! There are two versions being released: one a “lite” tablet version running Windows RT and a full version running Windows 8 Pro. The Windows 8 Pro version also comes with a better screen. I’ve always said that while the iPad is great, it was a never a replacement for a laptop. It just can’t handle real files like Excel sheets and photo editing.

This isn’t just another me-too Tablet. Microsoft thought some of the details through: USB 3.0, MicroSD card slot and a magnetic cover with a built in keyboard are just some of the special features. Overall, these are pretty fantastic specs. With the features that are in it, this does look like a PC replacement and is coming closer to the new wave of Ultrabooks. I want one! No pricing yet. Hopefully its reasonable.
