Sony has announced a very attractive sub-compact with a 20.2 megapixel 1″ CMOS chip. The Cybershot RX100 comes with a 28-100mm lens with an aperture range of 1.8-4.9. Although the lens is a Carl Zeiss, I do think that it could have been better (the 4.9 at the top end of the range isn’t the best). But with a 1″ sensor, the quality of the images could still be exceptional. More impressive though is the small form factor for something with such a large sensor. I can’t wait to see it.
