Tag Heuer has released a glimpse of an upcoming smartphone – the Racer. While we haven’t seen the full details, we do know that it comes with the “latest” Android (4.0?), a “high-speed” processor, but more important, is covered in a brilliant carbon fibre and titanium shell. All this for a mere 2,800 Euros! Looks impressive, though that is pricey.
To my surprise, luxury phones like Tag Heuer and Nokia’s high-end Vertu phones actually do sell despite the high price. But none of those currently are smartphones. And to me, that was one of the worse things about luxury handsets – that they are high on luxury, but low on tech. Hopefully this will start a trend of better software to match the hardware.
