Amazon has announced the Kindle Fire, a 7″ Tablet. Potentially, this could be an iPad competitor, not because it has outstanding specs or anything, but because: 1) its cheap at US$199, nearly 1/2 of what the iPad costs; and 2) it has the Amazon store built-in, with all that it offers. While apps for the iPad is the key differentiator and what makes it so good, but with the Amazon store at your finger tips. The ability to buy books, music, content, etc. all on a nice color device – it does sound interesting. Still, I wonder if it can really challenge the dominance of the iPad.
